Recovery Audit Contractor Program Overview (RAC 101). The RAC program seeks to identify and recover improper payments made on claims of health care services provided to Medicare beneficiaries. Hospitals, physician practices, nursing homes and any other provider or supplier that bills Medicare Parts A and B are at risk.
